DEVELOPMENT PRIORITIES AND THE ROLE OF TERTIARY EDUCATION

How can countries develop their tertiary education systems to improve prospects for economic and social development in the medium to long term? Can more be done to share knowledge on an international basis? How should investment in education be funded – particularly in countries with severe budget pressures? Should the international community reassess donor priorities and upgrade the attention to tertiary education?
