What has been achieved in preparing South East Europe for EU accession since the 2003 Thessaloniki EU Summit? What are the specific steps that can be taken now to speed up the accession process in all the countries of South East Europe? Are there specific examples from Macedonia’s approach? What steps need to be taken for a “member state building” strategy to be effective? Is a national economic development plan a key first step? What needs to be done to make it work?
