Global and Domestic Governance

The conference will provide a forum for brainstorming on the opportunities, threats and challenges facing decision-makers and politicians between now and 2020. The 60th Anniversary Year provides an opportunity to take stock and to look forward to the challenges of the future. The conference will involve members of the Wilton Park International Association, the Wilton Park Advisory Council, academic staff and some prominent invited speakers. A new feature will be interaction with companies which have supported the Corporate Members’ scheme. The format will centre around regional and thematic workshops on key themes for the next 15 years. Will we see the emergence of new superpowers? Will the international standards and instruments be further eroded or provide a framework for international community? How will Europe and America relate? Will the Millennium Development Goals be met? Will nuclear proliferation be curbed? These and other issues can be addressed in a relaxed and informal setting. The achievements of 60 years can be celebrated and new tasks set.
